Founder’s Notes @Lala International School

Founder’s Notes

I AM Alhaji Lawali Lala, born on the 6th of December, 1955 at Gusau, Zamfara State (which means I am approximately 68 years, 4 months and 14 days old as you are reading this today). I am happily married and blessed with children and grand children. The idea of opening a school was conceived in 1990 to assist many children born and shoulder part of the responsibilities of government in providing sound and quality education to the populace, the explosion of which is already volatile.

I had not the means to build a school at a blow. I therefore built it at a tortoise pace with the little revenue at hand at a time. It took me thirteen years (13) to put up my first school structure in Abuja the Federal Capital Territory. Because of this hard labour, I decided to name it after me, Lala International Nursery and Primary School (LINPS). The school started on the 10th of September 2007 with about 30 children and 7 academic and non-academic staff.

Founder of Lala International School

Though it was built on a golden platter, yet I am happy now to have taken the bold step. I wish to make it a boarding school, and a tertiary institution in future for the benefit of my country men and women and for the entire humanity of the world. At this juncture, I cannot but express my sincere and heartfelt gratitude to the Almighty Allah for giving me not only the foresight but also the fortitude to build a school for the training of future leaders and for nation building.

Lala International School Gusau, Zamfara State

LALA International School Gusau can NOT BE mentioned without reference to the brief history of its founding stone above. Lala International School Gusau was established in September 2009, in order to argument the scarcely available educational centres in a State that was rated educationally backward from reports of different bodies (governmental and non-governmental). This heart-touching educational status coupled with the achievement I had in Lala international School Abuja form part of my reason for opening of this educational institution in my home town. It is worth giving glory and thanks to Almighty Allah that I have set up this edifice structure in Gusau and feel proud to be a true son of the soil of Zamfara State.

I have keen interest in the education sector, which is the driving factor for my huge investment in developing the sector. I committed a lot of resources that enabled a befitting and conducive atmosphere for academic activities for basic, post basic and tertiary education. It may interest the reader of this document to know that this school which started with seven (7) academic and non-academic staff can now boast of having 55 academic staff and 25 non-academic staff. This school which started with not more than 3 classes can now boast of having different educational facilities and equipment ranging from:

  1. Secondary School Extension block;
  2. New administrative block containing well-furnished offices and toilets;
  3. Ultra modern computer centre useful for training and JAMB examination;
  4. College of Health Sciences and Technology... just to mention but a few.

LET ME take this opportunity to recognize and appreciate all our parents and teachers as well as friends and well-wishers of the school who have in one way or the other contributed to the actualization of the mission and vision of this great school. These people are the major stakeholders in the forward march of this school. Together they have conceived, strategized and implemented more purposeful, effective and productive service delivery. These people have made it possible for Lala International School to wade through the many challenges of providing quality education at all time.

I want to specially recognize and commend the Executive Chairman of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) for his maximum cooperation and proper coordination of our parents in achieving the vision and mission of the school. The support demonstrated by parents in particular is an indicator of passion for educational growth and development which cannot be emphasized here. I specially recognize the unalloyed support of Parents and Teachers for the school.
